Applications

Prototype materials:

High performance polyurethane elastomer - replicates rubber or thermo plastics from 5 Shore A to 90 Shore A. Used in applications such as door seals, catches and steering wheels.
Rigid High performance polyurethane – replicates ABS, Polypropylene etc from 60 Shore through to 90 Shore D. Used in applications such as prototype dash boards, bumpers, engine boxes and body panels.
Epoxy and Silicone Moulding materials– allowing the client a reusable mould into which they can pour the chosen material to create the prototype part.

Vehicle construction:

Polyurethane flexible and rigid foam – used in engine insulation, seating, suspension systems, steering wheels, dashboards, roof liners, gasketing systems (this will need to be linked to gasket systems in filtration).
Epoxy and Polyurethane Adhesives – bonding of substrates reducing need for welding and fastening. Used in the construction of refrigerated lorries and caravans assembly.
Polyurethane rigid and rubber high performance – specialist manufacturers such as sports car manufacturers turn to Thermoset solutions to avoid high tooling costs.
Polyurethane, Epoxy and Silicone electrical / electronic resin systems – most vehicles require environmental protection for their electronic and electrical devices (this needs to be linked to Electronic/ Electrical). Greenfield Polymers have over 25 years experience in the supply of automotive potting and encapsulation materials. These include PCB potting of engine and braking management systems, Air bag sensors, tyre pressure sensors and cable connector assemblies.
