Key Facts

  • Protect against moisture, chemical and other external factors which would lead to failure of the electronic / electrical device.
  • Protect the device against impact, vibration and rapid temperature cycling and fire.
  • Protect the user by not allowing direct interface with live components.
  • Protect our clients’ intellectual property with an immovable layer of resin making their devices tamper proof
  • Improve the performance giving benefits such as electrical insulation, greater heat dissipation, better dielectrics and resistance to tracking.
Sample applications

Cable joints
  • Potting – the enclosing of electronic and electrical components generally into a plastic or metal box. This is done by locating the device into the enclosure and simply pouring the resin material over it.
  • Typical applicationsTransformers, Capacitors, Electronic Filters, PCB’s, Cable Joints, LED’s, Power supplies, Batteries, Sensors, automotive electronic devices.

  • Encapsulation / Casting – enclosing electronics and electrical devices in a resin surround. Generally this is done by locating the device in a mould pouring the resin material over it, releasing it from the mould to create a resilient cast.
  • Typical applicationsCast Transformers CT and VT, PCB’s, Capacitors, connectors, LED’s.

  • Sealing – injecting or pouring the resin material into a hole or area to give a hermetic seal for the electronics inside.
  • Typical applicationsswitches, electronic filters, solenoids, LED’s.

  • Adhering – used to hold electronics and electrical devices in place. Without the resin they would fall apart under vibration and impact. Resin can also be used to bond two substrates together.
  • Typical applicationsbonding of ferrite cores, bonding of coils to reduce noise and vibration, bonding of heat sinks to electronic devices.

  • Coating – generally classed as a below 3 mm thick layer of thermoset resin applied by either pouring, dipping or spraying to protect the device from environment.
  • Typical applicationsPCB coating, Transformers, Stator motor impregnation.
